A Spring Compilation – What to Wear with Purple

What to wear with purple. Building color stories and creating pairings that highlight the beauty of lavender!

Purple, violet, lavender… in color therapy, these colors have a calming effect. Embracing the calmness of purple and carrying this over to fashion, pairing purple with certain colors can create a delicate yet impactful outfit. Today, we’re playing with lavender and sapphire, earth tones, and pastel color combinations.

Lavender with shades of sapphire. Soft purple with blue is a beautiful color story that blends harmoniously together and creates quite an impact. With these two colors, I love adding texture like lace and suede to add depth and interest to this delicate color palette.

With an all-purple palette, I love incorporating movement and grounding the outfit with a neutral color such as chestnut. A fluttery blouse paired with leg-lengthening pleated pants gives this look a relaxed and airy feel.

Another example of purple with chestnut. Unlike black, brown tones reinforce the delicacy and lightness of purple by creating a soft blend rather than a stark contrast (the way black and purple does). Chestnut tones add earthiness and ground lavender hues, making the color combination approachable and easy to wear.

Last but not least, a pastel combination of lavender and mint. I love this color pairing! It’s fresh, soft and joyful. Keeping these two colors as the main color story, I look to neutral colors such as beige, nude, or brown to complete the look. Nude, beige, or tan boots. And same with a bag. Accessories that would not take away from the principle color palette.

As always, thank you so much for reading!

Sunset Colors – Tonal Spring Dressing

Last call for coats this season! It looks and feels like spring.

Yellow Puff Sleeve Blouse, Styled Again Here
    Spring Colors, Winter Feel
I think coat season is over (hopefully I’m not speaking too soon!). In the last few days, the weather has been beautiful and warm. Before putting my coats away, I wanted to create one last color arrangement to celebrate the end of winter. Layering my Ann Taylor puff sleeve blouse under an old Tibi dress and anchoring the look with a dash of red with my Senreve bag (color Mimosa Chili), I revisited one of my favorites – sunset colors.

Marigold and ruby colors are beautiful for spring and summer. They bring out a sense of comfort and joy. Below are a few of my favorite pieces in marigold and ruby. From shoes to dresses, these pieces add brightness and cheer to casual and dressy looks.

An incredible view, sunset color dressing, and cool weather… Saying hello to spring in the best way! Hope you enjoy the styling and photography. And as always, thank you so much for reading!

  • A Fresh Take on Spring Styling with Lavender

A Fresh Take on Spring Styling with Lavender

New season, new silhouette, same love for lavender. A fresh take on spring styling with lavender and soft pleats.

Spring awakening with another dose of lavender today. This time, with dot patterns and refined pleats. This particular leg-lengthening silhouette coupled with gentle draping gives these pants a fresh yet familiar feel. Because of the color and shape, I find that they invite a feeling of travel. You can imagine wearing them strolling around Paris buying bread or visiting Santorini admiring the blue waters. It feels relaxed, unrestricted, and peaceful.

Coupled with the dot pattern blouse, it creates a tonal look that feels light and effortless. This blouse is also beautiful worn casually with vintage-inspired jeans or styled for the office with tailored pants

Happy spring and I hope you enjoyed this styling! Thank you so much for reading!

When something is too good just to be at-home wear! Feeling beautiful with this loungewear silk set around the kitties and at date night.

When I first saw this silk set, I didn’t realize it was loungewear. I thought it was a silk dress and trench. After doing a little research, I realized that designer Jacques is a master of inside out – creating beautiful loungewear pieces that make you feel glamorous at home and also for all outside the home adventures. Case in point, this coat trench and slip maxi dress! Balanced, luxurious, and perfect for day and night.

  • Important Styling Lessons for Pant Suits

Important Styling Lessons for Pant Suits

Adding color, texture and movement to pant suits are great ways to balance their structural elements.

You know what’s so funny… I owned ZERO suits when I was at my corporate job. Now being in the creative field, I have a small collection. For some reason, I never equated suits to office wear only. To me, the idea of wearing suits incorporated elements of creativity leaving so much room for personal style. The one thing I learned about pant suits… adding color is so important.

In general, I find that pant suits can feel a bit stiff. To add movement and interest, I love pairing them with whimsical details. A voluminous ruffled blouse or a bold pussy bow shirt. Strong complementary elements that would balance the structured look of pant suits.

Another way to offset that stiffness is using color. A black pant suit feels and looks very different from a pink or a light blue color one. For color considerations, I personally love rose . It’s beautiful all season round, flattering on virtually all skin tones, and has a powerful yet gentle presence.

Another reason why I’m so attached to suits is that they act as separates, which opens up different pairings throughout the year. For example, I can restyle this blazer in the summertime with shorts or I can pair these tailored pants with a red chunky sweater for spring. They’re perfect with pumps, kitten heels for more comfort, and sneakers for a casual look.

I hope you enjoy this pairing and thank you so much for reading!

  • Most Complimented Winter Coat

    Most Complimented Winter Coat

The tailored cut, the pinstripes, the camel beige tone, the interesting side button details – these are some of the aspects that make this coat the most complimented.

Online and in person, whenever I post about this beige pinstripe coat, I get so many compliments and questions about it. I think it’s because it has a familiar yet renewed look. Beige coats are equally as versatile as black coats, they carry over to spring extremely well, and there is a sense of refinement and polish to them. I love beige coats. Deeply and unequivocally. What makes this coat so different and special is the pinstripes (a graceful nod to menswear), the weight (this coat keeps you warm), and side button closures (this creates movement). The best part is it can be dressed up or styled casually, leaving room for endless styling options.

Today, we’re dressing up this coat (and I’ll restyle it again for a casual look soon) with lace in beige color stories to create a tonal look. Rounding out the look, I paired it with a deeper camel color with the bag.

I hope you enjoy this styling. The lace gives it a romantic feel while the coat anchors the look with structure creating a balanced pairing of feminine-meets-masculine. Just a fair warning, you’re going to see a lot more of this coat!

As always, thank you so much for reading!

  • Favorite Swimwear – Styles That Are Truly Flattering

Favorite Swimwear – Styles That Are Truly Flattering

Taking advantage of these last days of summer with my favorite swimwear pieces!

This summer, we spent so much time at the beach and water parks that I built a small collection of swimwear. With all of them being postpartum and petite friendly, below are some of my favorite styles. These swimsuits are incredibly flattering and beautiful!

    The Sidestroke
This one-shoulder style swimsuit is absolutely stunning and incredibly flattering! It comes in solid colors and also colorblock options. I adore their colorblock designs and am wearing the Lava & Hibiscus & White Sand color here. Offering great compression and support, this swimsuit is very postpartum friendly! The leg opening sits comfortably without riding up and the asymmetric open back makes it gorgeous from every angle. Also petite friendly (for size reference, I’m 5 ft 110 pounds and wearing a size 2).

    The Bow Shoulder Ruched Sidestroke

The bow-shoulder swimsuit– such a sleek and classy design! It’s so pretty that I’d want to wear it as a top! One-shoulder style topped with a bow, this swimsuit is frame enhancing and hugs all the right places. It has sewn-in cups for coverage, offers great compression and is postpartum friendly. And again, I love the asymmetric open back! Comes in really fun prints and is petite friendly as well (for size reference, I’m wearing a size 2).

    The Ruffle Backflip
So charming, this ruffle swimsuit pairs a deep V-neckline with an open back. The coverage is a little cheeky compared to the other two, but still feels very secure. The way the colorblock pattern sits at the high waist gives leg-lengthening effects. Also offers great compression and is postpartum friendly. Comes in really fun prints and colorblock options. For size reference, I’m wearing a size 2.

I’m a huge fan of Summersalt. Their swimwear collection offers thoughtful and beautiful designs with great options that are postpartum and petite friendly. What I appreciate most is that their swimsuits are timeless yet fun, classy yet sexy all while making you feel like your best self.

Hope you’re having a great summer and thank you so much for reading!

  • Classics for This Season & Beautiful Pieces for Home

Classics for This Season & Beautiful Pieces for Home

For this holiday season, the gift of classics that can extend for a few years is truly a gift that keeps on giving. Whether it is a gift to celebrate personal triumphs or offer respite from the pressures of the day-to-day, or a gift to someone special to express your affection in abundance, below are my favorites for this holiday and beyond.

It’s no surprise that I’m a huge fan of Senreve pieces. I have a few in my collection and I can confidently say that throughout this year I’ve carried these bags the most. With limited places to go, I’ve developed a greater appreciation for fuss-free, multipurpose, and chic creations that can complement any outfit and occasion. From trips to the grocery store, Artemis, and doctor’s appointments, these bags are robust (leaving them looking brand new for months on end), versatile, and helps me feel put together even on days when I’m in sweats.

Next to black, I find that nude tones, chestnut shades, and a great taupe color are the most timeless. To me, taupe with gray undertones is a very fresh and modern color. With it being on the lighter side, it works well as an understated winter and spring color, and equally well as a light and romantic color for summer. I’m embracing my love for taupe in a monochromatic look today. Layering ruffles with stripes, I wanted to highlight the sophisticated soft yet masculine side of taupe.

My fondness for taupe also extends to home pieces. I was thrilled to see that Senreve expanded their offerings to home decor. After moving earlier this year, I’ve kept an active eye out for chic and beautiful pieces that can add life to my apartment. This leather jewelry tray is just so fun! Great as an accent piece next to your door for keys or as an everyday item next to your nightstand or vanity for rings and bracelets. They also have incredible cashmere blankets! As you can see, I’m not the only fan of them. My kitty, Sam, is like a magnet to it! Everywhere it goes, he follows. It’s soft, warm, and the two-tone color block (mine is marigold on one side and off-white on the other) makes it easy to decorate depending on season and mood.

I hope you enjoy this styling and home post! With their beautiful bags and home decor pieces, they make perfect gifts for that special someone in your life or a treat for yourself.

Happy holidays and thank you so much for reading!

A Hint of Spring with Ruffles and Blues

Embracing spring with a shorter look. Both hair and outfit!

It was warm enough to wear shorts and skirts the other day, so I didn’t want to miss the opportunity to style something more spring appropriate. A little mix of ruffles with a hint of something industrial anchored by sky blue hues.

I hope you’re having a great week so far. Colin and I have been working nonstop on a very very special project. I can’t wait to share it with you soon. As always, thank you so much for your love and support. And thank you so much for reading!
