Wearing My Cat! Fun Ways to Elevate a T-shirt

The perfect gift and a great way to elevate a simple t-shirt – custom paw buddy portraits!

Every year for my birthday, Colin gets me t-shirts with Sam and Sherlock on them. Last year, he printed one of my favorite IG photos of them, and this year, he pulled out all the stops – custom Sam and Sherlock artwork! From last year to this year, my reaction is always the same. Glassy eyes full of tears. I love the artwork so much that we turned them into t-shirts and we’re planning to frame them in larger prints.

As crazy as this sounds – if you have a dog or cat lover in your family or circle of friends, this is one way to guarantee full force hugs and flood of tears. This is also a great gift to celebrate the life and memory of a dear companion that is no longer with us. We had a few friends who lost their beloved cats and dogs this year, and we always try to do this for them. Of all of the items in my closet, I treasure my Sam and Sherlock t-shirts the most.

I hope you enjoy this styling. It’s a great gift idea and a great way to elevate simple t-shirts – custom cat and dog portraits! Have a good weekend and thank you so much for reading.

  • Velvet Crush – Velvet Dress & Favorite Velvet Pieces

Velvet Crush – Velvet Dress & Favorite Velvet Pieces

Awww yummy velvet! As you know, I’m no stranger to velvet. I love velvet – beautiful rich deep colors for fall.

Velvet cakes, velvet dresses, velvet slippers… all equally delicious! This texture is sublime for fall. It’s soft, glimmers when the light touches it, and feels holiday ready. I love mixing velvet with stronger textures like leather (the tall boots), and pairing it with similar soft textures like sheer pieces (the turtleneck) and velvet accessories (the box bag). It’s the harmonious combination of feminine with masculine elements that I really love

Sharing my obsession of velvet with you today. From dresses to blazers to bags, velvet can be worn as a statement or as an accent piece. If you are at the beginning of your velvet love affair, a great item to start with is this mini velvet bag. It’s great with an evening dress and also great styled as a weekend look with a slouchy sweater and high rise straight jeans.

I hope you enjoy this styling and the velvet edit. Thank you so much for reading!

  • Sweater Weather – A Fall Fashion Guide Under

Sweater Weather – A Fall Fashion Guide Under $50

Sometimes the simplest is the best. Classic shapes with a twist at great prices – welcome to sweater weather, aka fall fashion!

Sweater weather is synonymous with fall styling. Our love for cozy sweaters becomes a deep obsession around this time of the year. And no matter how many beautiful outfits I see online, I always go back to the classics – a great sweater with slouchy boots for fall. This time, both of these items are high quality and under $50!

This slouchy turtleneck can be worn with jeans, styled as a sweater dress (I sized up for a more boxy sweater dress look), and paired with tailored pants for an office look. What I love about this piece is that it’s truly a classic. One of those pieces that make dressing easy and comfy. I’m so happy that this Scoop line exclusively at Walmart has this sweater in cream, camel, and rose as well. I ended up ordering the black.

These suede boots have a good amount of padding and the perfect amount of slouch. They’re very comfortable, and can be easily styled over denim or with tights. The block heel gives it an off-duty vibe while the almond toe shape elevates the look. It’s casual yet dressy, great for the office and also at holiday parties.

From a classic item like the black turtleneck to a fun piece like this leopard sweater, the overall tone of this Scoop collection is familiar yet modern.

I hope you enjoy the styling and fall sweater edit!As always, thank you so much for reading!

  • Pampas Grass Hunting & A Romantic Look for Fall

Pampas Grass Hunting & A Romantic Look for Fall

Work outfit and hunting for pampas grass. One of the fun projects – creating store window displays!

I’m going to try and re-design the shop window at Artemis every other season. My next project needs to be a theme that intertwines fall and winter. I love the magical look of pampas grass and the off-white color feels autumn/winter. We’re thinking about creating a pampas grass cloud + dried flowers installation that drapes over the birdcages . Aside from the store window display, I love pampas grass as accent pieces for home! I bought mine for this Etsy seller and it’s beautiful – large, fans out beautifully, and just a few stems will light up the room!

This pouch bag on rotation . It fits a lot, but can get heavy rather quickly. I’m used to lugging my heavy work bag around, so even when this pouch bag is full it’s on the lighter side for me. Pairing this bag and outfit with mirror accents, I love the spike studs and t-strap look of these silver pumps. I’ve worn these silver pumps before with jeans and a sweater, and really appreciate how metallic pumps can make a simple outfit instantly chic.

Shorts | Storets white flare shorts
Bag | Bottega Veneta pouch bag

  • Almost Autumn in Downtown

    Almost Autumn in Downtown

Alot of my friends have reached out asking about New York. Some fear that the death of New York is imminent, while others are hopeful that the spirit of New York will survive this.

Almost autumn in New York. A sweater weather comfort that feels so calm and peaceful.

Speaking of calm, I rarely shoot in the theater district because it’s usually extremely crowded. Lots and lots of people. And buses and cars. Just overwhelming overall. For a clear shot, we’d have to get there at sunrise to beat the crowds. This time, it’s a lot different. Small crowds, few cars, and little foot traffic. A lot of my friends have reached out asking about New York. Some fear that the death of New York is imminent, while others are hopeful that the spirit of New York will survive this. Some days, I feel both. The foot traffic at Artemis is nothing like it was last summer and some of our close clients have moved out of state. Walking through Time Square and the theater distinct though, I do feel the spirit of New York. It’s almost like a sleepy giant about to wake up from its nap. I remain hopeful, because I have to be. There’s no other place I’d rather be.

With autumn at our front door, sweater weather is a much welcomed tradition. In my humble opinion, one of the queens of fall styling is my dear friend, Marissa Webb. I have these leather pants in black and they are one of my absolute favorites. This chestnut edition is gorgeous as well and works beautifully with brown tones, winter whites, shades of blue, and more. And this sweater can be worn buttoned up or as a cut out detail at the shoulder. Super chic and cozy!

  • Fall Colors & Best of Beauty

Fall Colors & Best of Beauty

Autumn colors and sharing my favorite beauty products and secrets today! As we transition to fall, colors get deeper, scents moodier, and skincare regimes become more curated.

Rich purples, earthy browns, soothing latte colors – autumn is in the air! In addition to fashion and style, one of the main seasonal celebrations for me is in the nose. Scents. I love a bright crisp scent for summer, and as the seasons change, slowly transitioning to a deeper scent as a mark of a new beginning.

This Gucci Bloom is a floral scent anchored by jasmine, tuberose, and rangoon creeper, which makes it a soft floral with a slight powdery finish (this one is perfect for fall/winter and the Gucci Bloom Acqua di Fiori in the green bottle is perfect for spring/summer because of it’s fresh floral notes). A great fall signature scent is just the beginning. Autumn hues continue with garnet nails and ruby lips. And for skincare, I focus on creating deep hydration in the fall and winter, and on contouring all year round.

I’m much more committed to my facial massage routines now. After my esthetician gave me a gua sha facial massage, I went on a hunt looking for gua sha tools! And this hunt brought me to the Walmart beauty page. I bought the Daily Concepts jade gua sha tool, and to this day, use it every night. It helps by reducing puffiness (a huge issue for me), and increasing lymphatic drainage and blood flow. The results are slimmer more contour features.

While picking up the gua sha tool, I also re-stocked on my SK-II Essence and R.N.A. Power Cream, Stila All Day waterproof liquid eyeliner, and NARS Jungle Red lip color. I’ve been using the SK-II products for over 2 years now and love them! While the essence is a hydrating lightweight liquid, the cream is super velvety and provides intense hydration (great for fall and winter!). While re-stocking on these goods, guess what I saw?! Magnetic eyelashes!

I’m a HUGE fan of magnetic eyelashes, because I developed a latex allergy a few years ago. Sadly, most eyelash glue have latex in them and the latex-free ones still irritate my eyes. Magnetic lashes are a little tricky to apply at the beginning, but once you get the hang of it, it’s a breeze. This LaFabs magnetic eyelash set makes the application process easier by including an applicator. The trick is to keep the applicator open with the lash sets on, position the lower lash strip first to your eye, and then slowly clamp down so the top lash strip connects with the bottom.

From discovering an autumn signature scent to playing with magnetic eyelashes, the Walmart beauty page has something special for everyone. From premium brands to Walmart exclusives, it’s a fun place to shop for fall favorites and beyond. Also, I really appreciate their lightning fast shipping.

I hope you enjoy the styling and beauty picks! As always, thank you so much for reading!

  • Naked But Not Afraid – All Beige for Fall

Naked But Not Afraid – All Beige for Fall

Always in the mood for nudes! The best kind – whisper-weight tulle, double-layered stretch tulle, and buttery leather!

My favorite color palette for spring, summer, and fall. A symphony of cream, beige, and tan all working together to create airy textures and a polished feel. This tulle trench is out of this world and can be layered on top of a traditional trench coat for a high volume look. I also found this Maje tulle coat that can be worn as a dress, as a coat, or over a trench as well to create a layered look. There’s just something so irresistibly gentle, soft, and feminine about tulle. And it’s a great look for day and night.

Lately, this pouch bag is all the rage . And I can see why. It’s the new Bottega Veneta under Daniel Lee. Quiet sophistication mixed with soft confidence, Bottega Veneta focuses on elevated minimalism. There’s something familiar yet different about these pieces. And this bag is a great example. I imagine our grandmas loving it (pouch shapes have been around for generations) and yet it’s still chic today. This time though, it’s a buttery soft oversized version.

Flowy and feminine combined with oversized accents, I hope you enjoy the styling and outfit! This color palette is perfect for fall and we can always save it again for spring =)

  • Guerlain for Bees – Why Honey Is Good for Your Skin

Guerlain for Bees – Why Honey Is Good for Your Skin

Off of the French coast, there’s a place called Ouessant, and along with it a proverb – “He who sees Ouessant sees his blood”.

This proverb is very familiar to all those who know Ouessant. Dangerous waves and stormy weather, this windswept island is surrounded by reefs and strong currents. One of the stormiest places in the world, Ouessant gets hit with enormous low-pressure systems that swirl eastward across the North Atlantic 6 months out of the year. During the summertime though, these waves and storms are a distant memory. The island is calm, quiet, and peaceful while these storms surrounding the island protects one of the world’s best kept secrets. Our adventure takes us from Paris to Ouessant with one of the most established perfume, cosmetics and skincare houses in the world – Guerlain. Rich in tradition and constantly striving for perfection, Guerlain takes us to the heart and soul of the brand by showing us how they bring beauty to their products while appreciating their clients and respecting the planet.

Ouessant is about 1 and 1/2 hours by ferry. I usually don’t get motion sickness, but this water ride was a different story. Stomach turning and head pounding, I understood immediately what that proverb meant. Even for a calm sunny summer day, the currents were strong and it rocked the ferry.

The secret to this island is about 15 mm long. A unique element of this world’s natural heritage, the black bees of Ouessant are particularly special.

Ouessant island is about 11 miles from the French coast. Due to this distance, there’s a natural barrier that protects it against pollution and diseases. The ecosystem on this island is one of the purest and most biodiverse ecosystems in the world. And it is home to the Apis Mellifera Mellifera, a native species of black bee. These black bees thrive on the island’s natural resources without the need for pesticides or chemicals, making the honey they produce one of the best and purest in the world.

For the last 15 years, Guerlain works in partnership with the Brittany Black Bee Conservatory on Ouessant to protect these black bees and to guarantee sustainable sourcing while seeking the rarest natural ingredients and best honey to formulate their products. Now the question… why honey?

According to Professor Bernard Descottes of the Limoges University Hospital with over 25 years of research, honey helps heal wounds more quickly and even regenerates the skin. Dating back to more than 4000 years, honey is one of the oldest skin-care ingredients. It’s a natural humectant, which means it pulls moisture into the skin thus providing incredible hydration.

Honey also contains antioxidants, antiseptic, and antibacterial properties (it’s very low on the pH scale). Using the purest honey from the Ouessant black bees creates Royal Jelly, which Guerlain uses to develop a skincare regime that is scientifically aimed to minimize the visible signs of aging on the skin.

My trip to Ouessant with Guerlain was eye-opening. I had the rare opportunity to see the native Ouessant black bees up close, to meet the passionate beekeepers, and to learn about Guerlain’s commitment to sustainability. And now the heroes on our vanity tables drum roll:

1.Abeille Royale Youth Watery Oil :: Formulated with Guerlain’s Royal Jelly, this face oil is a bridge between an essence and a serum. Combining the strength of a serum, the richness of an oil, and the freshness of a toner, this face oil is light yet powerful. It leaves the skin hydrated, silky, and smooth. It’s a great texture for those who find face oils too heavy and toners too light.

2.Abeille Royale Double R – Renew & Repair Serum :: The power of two serums in one! The Renew formula (the side with the gel base) and the Repair formula (the cream side) works together in tandem to create a soft-peel treatment to promote skin regeneration. And it smells like heaven!!!

3.Abeille Royale Mattifying Day Cream :: Honestly, this is one of my favorite creams! When you think about ‘mattifying’, the first thing that comes to mind is dull and dry. This cream is the exact opposite. It takes away the shine while leaving your face hydrated with a healthy glow. It’s also an incredible primer! I use it right before applying makeup and it helps minimize my pores and lines.

4.Aqua Allegoria Bergamote Calabria :: Their commitment to sustainability extends to their fragrances. These gorgeous perfume bottles can be personalized and refilled! This particular scent, Bergamot Calabria, is my favorite! I personally love natural bright citrusy scents (versus scents that smell artificial and sweet) and this one with notes of bergamot is unique, uplifting, and fresh. It’s such a great day and summer scent!

5.And last but not least, the Rouge G Customizable Lipsticks :: Taking recycle and reuse to a new level – an incredibly chic level! These Rouge G de Guerlain shades are sold without a case. Instead, customizable lipstick cases are encouraged to be reused once the lipsticks are gone with the goal to reduce waste. The cases have a double-mirror attached inside. The matte colors are not dry or dull, but instead have a soft creamy finish. My favorite nudes are No. 01 Matte, No. 04 Matte, and No. 17 Satin, and favorite summer red is No. 26 Matte.

I hope you enjoyed our travel & skincare photo story! From Bee to Bottle, Guerlain is thoughtful and purposeful every step of the way. Starting next year, they’re launching a digital platform that will trace each ingredient back to the source on each product. A scan code will be attached to each product and we can see an explanation on each ingredient, why Guerlain picked that particular ingredient, where it’s from, the factory where the packaging is made, etc. I truly appreciate Guerlain’s mission in bringing beauty to the products, people, and planet.

  • Always in the Mood for Classics

Always in the Mood for Classics

Always in the mood for classics! Always. Pieces that are versatile year round, that can go from cold winter days to warm summer nights, and that are great companions to almost every piece in our closet.

Sharing the latest Express collaboration collection, Express x Olivia Culpo, today and the best part is that all of the pieces are under $150 with most under $100.

To be honest with you, I can’t pull off the track pants and bermuda shorts look, so I was trilled to see classic pieces in this collection. My favorite piece is this striped boyfriend blazer! It’s such a timeless piece! Great for the office when accompanied with tailored pants, for the weekends when coupled with jeans and sneakers, for the fashion lover to pair with boots, and for the busy soul who doesn’t have much time in the morning but still want to look polish and sleek throughout the day. And not to mention, it’s a great year round piece!

For NY winters, I have to practice the art of layering. And this blazer is perfect with a cozy sweater, wool coat, tights, and tall slouchy boots. Not to lose my shape with all of the layers, I belted the blazer using the buckle belt from the shorts.

I hope you enjoy the styling and featured items! Thank you so much for reading!
